Please give now to support the Science Center’s future.
First of all, I hope you and your family are safe and well.
This has been a spring like no other; a test for our species and our society. A test for our institutions and our community resiliency. Nature and the wild creatures living there are resilient, adaptable, and respond to adversity. We at the Science Center need to be the same. To emerge into the welcome warmth of summer strong and healthy, we need a Wellspring. We request your help to make sure there are many more wonderful springs and summers for the Science Center. Our mission to advance understanding of ecology by exploring New Hampshire’s natural world is even more important to everyone now as welcome therapy from the current forced isolation. Please support our Wellspring Fund.
Through all this, our Animal Care staff is feeding and caring for more than 100 animal ambassadors every day! Our Education team is developing innovative and fun ways to keep in touch and stay connected to everyone, especially students and families. Blue Heron School teachers are connecting daily with their preschool and kindergarten students via Zoom. The Facilities crew is maintaining the property, preparing trails and exhibits for when we are able to open and welcome you back. Everyone is practicing physical distancing and we're holding staff meetings digitally.
We are planning for when this is over although the unpredictable nature of this tragedy means it's hard to make long-range decisions now. We cancelled all programs until further notice. We don't know when we'll be able to open the trails for the season. We are working hard to make sure there are regular updates on our website, emails, and other social channels, compiled on our Resources page.
If you are able, please make your annual donation early this year to help fill the Wellspring. And if you can, increase the amount of your donation, too. We hope you will help us continue to provide Nearer to Nature experiences for you and our greater community to enjoy.
Until we see you on the trails again, please take care of yourself and your families,
Iain MacLeod Executive Director
